There are numerous New Testament passages making it clear that God expects His people to minister to the needs of others. The model is Jesus Christ, the perfect example of self-giving, sacrificial love (Matthew 20:25-28, John 13:15). Jesus came to serve and not be served.

The ministry to which Christ calls us is distinctive because it is done in Christ’s name and for His glory, not out of purely humanitarian motives. Serving involves practical acts of helping other Christians who are in need, helping our sister churches, and seeking to meet the needs of people in our community, across Texas, throughout North America, and around the world. We encourage our members to use their God-given time, talents, and treasure to serve in the name of Christ.
