Discovery Days, our mother’s day out program, is a safe, caring and nurturing environment for your child’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual development. At Discovery Days, your child will play with other children, learn at an age-appropriate level, hear Bible stories, sing, do crafts and more.
Age Appropriate Learning
Children are taught basic skills according to their age and ability. Listed below are some of the many aspects of learning we work with. Not all aspects are used with all ages of preschoolers. We teach children ABC’s, numbers, colors, shapes, opposites, patterns, left/right, as well as the Pledge of Allegiance, days of the week, and months of the year. Children will hear Bible stories, learn Bible verses, sing songs and learn some sign language. We will teach your children skills such as using scissors, painting, coloring and more. We will also help your children learn to share, sit quietly, clean up, use good hygiene habits, and help them with potty training.
Who is Discovery Days For?
Discovery Days is for preschoolers aged 1 and walking to 5 years old, based on class demand. Discovery Days is open to the community. You do not need to be a member of First Baptist to attend Discovery Days.
When is Discovery Days?
Discovery Days meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm. Discovery Days runs along with the public school calendar August through May.
