Backpacks and Blue Jeans is on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 in the First Baptist Church gymnasium from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
Registration for Backpacks and Blue Jeans begins on June 1st and ends on July 22nd.
This event is for the families of children who reside in Aransas County, Texas and will be attending Rockport-Fulton School District in Fall 2025 in grades Pre-K through 12th. Many community organizations will be on-site as well to share information and opportunities for you and your family.
Backpacks & Blue Jeans is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Rockport. It was started in 2009 by a concerned church member, who felt every child should start the new school year off with at least one set of new clothes.
Since that time Backpacks & Blue Jeans has grown into a community effort with other churches and community groups participating to make sure that every child in the county gets a good start each year. Each eligible student receives a new backpack and either a new set of clothes or a gift card for school supplies and/or clothes.
The tickets register you and your student(s) for the meal, backpacks, vision and hearing screening, socks and undies, haircuts, and if needed, vaccines.
This event and all associated clothes and backpacks are free. Some quantities are limited, however, and are reserved by ticket on a first come first served basis.
