The next First Family meeting is on April 27, 2025 in the Sanctuary at 6:00 pm.
FBC Rockport has quarterly business meetings, called First Family meetings. These meetings follow an agenda and decisions are made by the congregation by following the parliamentary rules of procedure described in Robert’s Rules of Order, Revised. Quorum consists of those members who attend the meeting, provided it has been properly called. The Senior Pastor, or someone the Senior Pastor designates, serves as Moderator of all business meetings.
Church members or committees having business for the church should contact the Pastor/Moderator well in advance of scheduled business meetings. The Senior Pastor may refer business to a responsible person, a ministry team, a committee, the Church Council, or place the matter on the agenda of a scheduled business meeting or a called business meeting.
Every voting member of the congregation, regardless of age, is entitled to address all questions submitted to the church in a business meeting, provided that the member is present or provision has been made for absentee ballots at a called business meeting.
